While Holiday season is knocking on the door, eBook-lovers got disappointing news: Kindle DX is out of stock for 4-6 weeks. Those who have waited for the last moment to order a DX for themselves or as a gift for someone have missed the opportunity to get one before Christmas. It was unexpected in the sense that Amazon had experienced such ‘out-of-stock’ problem due to huge demand for kindle when it was first introduced in the market as the company was not sure about its acceptance by consumers, and didn’t build up enough stock for the holiday season.
This year when nook was announced and B&N was taking the pre-orders, in a few weeks it became out of stock; and it helped amazon to sell more kindle since that’s one available in market. After people started receiving nook the media reported shortcomings and buggy nature of nook, people who were waiting to make decision whether to go for nook or kindle become more inclined to kindle. It has boosted the sales of kindle - kiondle 2 and kindle DX, and probably, kindle DX was selling faster as it’s unique in reading large PDF files on a bigger screen.
If you don’t want to miss kindle this year, still you can order kindle 2 at an afforable price. To me, Kindle DX is still way too expensive.
